Social Media & Politics

This week we spent the majority of our time discussing how social media has changed the operations of politics politicians. I personally did not realize the impact that social media had on campaigning for presidency or how operations were done before social medias involvement due to the fact that the Clinton/Trump election was the first I was eligible to vote in. As a 22 year old presently, I was 13 the first time Obama was elected and 17 the second time, and honestly I didn't even have twitter or Facebook myself till I was 15 and politics was not what I was following on them any how. Seeing how Obama dominated the playing field with social media accounts came as a great surprise to me because I thought everyone used social media in politics but honestly when seeing the numbers he was far ahead of his time and his opponents.
